RAMADI, Iraq (August 15, 2008) – 2nd Lt. Andrew Walsh, a team leader with Civil Affairs Detachment 2, 1st Battalion, 9th Marine Regiment, Regimental Combat Team 1, competes in a game of soccer with fellow U.S. service members versus the Ramadi Iraqi Police August 14. The Iraqi Police won the game 2-0. But according to Col. Hattim Hamid, the Mulaab station Iraqi Police chief, the final score was irrelevant as the game had a more momentous, symbolic meaning. “The game was entertaining but it really didn’t matter who was victorious,” Hattim said. “The only thing that mattered was that the Marines and Iraqi Police came together as brothers and the city of Ramadi came together as one.” (Official U.S. Marine Corps photo by Sgt.
