Nelson, 21, a personnel clerk with 2nd Light Armored Reconnaissance Battalion, Regimental Combat Team 5, came from being broke to becoming a successful Marine striving to be a drill instructor. After hard and struggling times being brought up in southwestern Philadelphia, Nelson decided to change his life.
