Commanding Officer, 1st Marine Regiment
Colonel Sullivan is a native of Long Island, New York. He attended Officer Candidate School and was commissioned as a Second Lieutenant following graduation from Iona College in May 1999. He proceeded to Quantico, Virginia where he attended The Basic School and the Infantry Officer Course.

Sergeant Major Cortes enlisted in the Marine Corps on 16 September 1998 from Chicago, IL and attended Recruit Training at 1st Recruit Training Battalion, Marine Corps Recruit Depot San Diego, CA.
