Chaplain Soca was born and raised in Hudson County, New Jersey. In 1992, he completed his Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the New Jersey

Institute of Technology in Newark, New Jersey. He received his Master of Divinity Degree in 2003 from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary in Wake Forest, North Carolina. He is currently in the dissertation stage of a Ph.D. in Preaching from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary. Chaplain Soca commissioned as a U.S. Navy Reserve chaplain on 1st October 2018. He commissioned into Active Duty on 10th July 2020. While in seminary, Chaplain Soca served as a pastoral intern at Open Door Church in Raleigh, North Carolina. Ordained in 2010, he became an associate pastor for more than three years on a part-time basis at Open Door Church, starting and leading the Spanishspeaking ministry of the church. In June of 2013, he helped plant Christ Our Hope Church, Lyndhurst, New Jersey as the Lead Pastor. Upon completing chaplain school, Chaplain Soca was assigned to RELSUP MCCDC in October of 2019 at NOSC Fort Dix, where he focused on developing resources for Marine spiritual fitness initiatives. In July of 2020, he reported to Marine Corps Air Ground Combat Center, Twentynine Palms, CA, to serve as chaplain for the 3rd Battalion, 7th Marine Regiment.

Chaplain Soca is a recipient of the Chaplain Stanley J. Beach Leadership Award.
