Chaplain Kendall W. Taylor received a Bachelors of Arts degree in Pastoral Ministries from Emmanuel College, Franklin Springs, Georgia, in May of 2004.  After College, he attended Asbury Theological Seminary where he received a Masters of Divinity degree in May of 2009.  While attending seminary, he entered into the Chaplain Candidate Program where he successfully completed all the elements of the chaplaincy program.


From September 2008 to April 2012 he served as the director of youth and children's ministries for Windsor United Methodist Church, Columbia, SC.  During this time, he was endorsed by the International Pentecostal Holiness Church and commissioned by the Navy as a reserve Chaplain. He served at Naval Operational Support, Columbia from November of 2010 to May of 2012.  


In May of 2012, he reported to 3rd Combat Engineering Battalion as the Battalion Chaplain.
