Cpl. Luis Alvarez Jr., and Cpl. Matthew J. Short, both combat engineers with Support Platoon, Company A, 3rd Combat Engineer Battalion, Regimental Combat Team 5, watch as a heavy lifter lowers one of the T-barrier anchors into a freshly dug hole in al-Anbar province, Iraq. The anchors were installed by Marines with Company A and Iraqi Army engineers Sept. 17 to help reinforce the Wahid Bridge. The bridge is an important part of the local infrastructure because it provides the people a shorter route to cross the Euphrates River.::r::::n::
