Lance Cpl. Nathan Blank, an administrative clerk with Regimental Combat Team 7, is currently serving as the assistant linguist manager for the RCT. Blank, a 19-year-old native of Rancho Cucamonga, Calif., is responsible for the accountability and transportation of Afghan interpreters here. After work, he often spends extra time with the interpreters to establish relationships and improve their English speaking skills. "I get to see the linguists' culture on a daily basis, from small things like how they greet one another to how dedicated they are to their religion," Blank said. "I enjoy being able to make a difference in their lives daily--even if it is something small, they are very appreciative."
