Lance Cpl. Matthew Friesen, a motor transportation operator with Regimental Combat Team 7, is a part of the motor transportation section responsible for moving gear and equipment throughout the RCT's area of operations. These logistics convoys supply Marines at smaller bases with water, food and other necessary military supplies. Friesen, a 21-year-old native of Ellicott City, Md., is one of many in his family to serve in the military and is proud to continue the tradition. Friesen's father served in the Navy, and his grandfathers served in the Army and Marine Corps.
