Private First Class Donald Bachert, a field wireman with Regimental Combat Team 7, works at the communications help desk and assists Marines with network and phone issues. Bachert, a 20-year-old native of Groveland, Fla., joined the Corps because he wanted to be remembered as someone who did something good with his life, but he found more than that. "I went from being a civilian and having one friend that I know would take a bullet for me, to having almost everyone I know willing to," Bachert said. "The brotherhood is an amazing thing that you can only experience as a Marine."
