Chad M Copp, 20, a light armored vehicle mechanic with Maintenance Platoon, Headquarters and Service Company, 2nd Light Armored Reconnaissance Battalion, Regimental Combat Team 5, installs rubber-surfaced liner in an engine while performing an annual service to a vehicle with the battalion at Camp Korean Village, Iraq, July 18. Regular maintenance and fixing broken vehicles are not the only responsibilities for the mechanics. The Marines also support Motor Transportation Platoon, H&S Company, with vehicle-recovery missions and provide mechanics to each company of the battalion. ::r::::n:: - Lance Cpl. An Iraqi man fills out a survey provided to him by soldiers with the Army Information Operations Team that is attached to 3rd Battalion, 4th Marine Regiment, Regimental Combat Team 5. The IO Team handed out and collected surveys from locals in Hit, Iraq, July 23. Marines with 1st Platoon, Company I, 3rd Bn., 4th Marines provided security during the operation. Chief Warrant Officer 5 James Roussell, a 56-year-old tactical intelligence officer from Chicago, with 1st Battalion, 24th Marine Regiment, Regimental Combat Team 6, stand with Marines who work with him in the battalion’s intelligence shop and Marines from the Personnel Security Detachment who escorts Roussell to the various meetings he attends throughout Fallujah. Roussell joined the Marine Corps in 1970 and served in Vietnam, the Gulf War and Operation Iraqi Freedom. Roussell has dedicated most of his life to keeping Americans safe both overseas and on American soil serving as a Chicago Police Officer for the last 29 years with the anti-gang tactical unit. Iraqi Policemen stand in line waiting to receive their certificates of completion for a basic water patrol course they graduated from July 15 at the Haditha Dam, which is near Haditha, Iraq. The group of policemen was the first to go through the course that was taught by Navy Riverines with Riverine Squadron 3, Detachment 2, 3rd Battalion, 4th Marine Regiment, Regimental Combat Team 5.
