Master Gunnery Sergeant Larry Robles
Larry A. Robles was born in Phoenix, Arizona. He enlisted into the Marine Corps and completed recruit training at Marine Corps Recruit Depot San Diego, California in February 1996. Following recruit training; Private Robles attended the School of Infantry at Camp Pendleton, California and upon completion was assigned the MOS of 0331 Infantry Machine Gunner.
In May 1996, Private Robles reported to 2d Battalion, 1st Marines, 1st Marine Division, Camp Pendleton, California where he served as a machine gunner, team leader, and squad leader in support two Western Pacific deployments with the 15th and 11th Marine Expeditionary Unit (Special Operations Capable).
In December of 1999, Sergeant Robles was transferred to Weapons Field Training Battalion, Edson Range, Camp Pendleton, California where he served as Range Coach and Primary Marksmanship Instructor.
In June of 2001, Sergeant Robles was transferred to 3d Battalion, 1st Marines, 1st Marine Division, Camp Pendleton, California where he served as a section leader, platoon sergeant, and platoon commander in support of one Western Pacific deployment with the 11th Marine Expeditionary Unit (Special Operations Capable), Operation Iraqi Freedom (OIF) and Operation Iraqi Freedom II (OIF II).
In August of 2005, Staff Sergeant Robles was transferred to Advanced Infantry Training Battalion, School of Infantry, Camp Pendleton, California where he served as Chief Instructor, Machine Gun Leader’s Course, Chief Instructor, Infantry Squad Leader Course, and Instructor, Infantry Unit Leader’s Course. Staff Sergeant Robles was meritoriously promoted to the rank of Gunnery Sergeant in January 2007.
In June 2008, Gunnery Sergeant Robles was transferred to 1st Battalion, 1st Marines, 1st Marine Division, Camp Pendleton, California where he served as Company Gunnery Sergeant for Bravo Company in support of one Western Pacific deployment with the 13th Marine Expeditionary Unit (Special Operations Capable). In September 2009, Gunnery Sergeant Robles was assigned to Headquarters and Support Company where he served as Company Gunnery Sergeant and Company 1stSgt.
In July 2010, Gunnery Sergeant Robles was transferred to 3d Battalion, 2d Marines, 2d Marine Division, Camp Lejeune, North Carolina where he served as Senior Enlisted Advisor, Embedded Training Team, Afghan National Army in support of Operation Enduring Freedom 11.1 (OEF 11.1). In August 2011, Gunnery Sergeant Robles was promoted to the rank of Master Sergeant and was assigned to Weapons Company, 3d Battalion, 2d Marines where he served as the Operations Chief in support of one Mediterranean deployment with the 26th Marine Expeditionary Unit.
In February 2014, Master Sergeant Robles was transferred to Headquarters Group, II Marine Expeditionary Force, Camp Lejeune, North Carolina where he served as the Group Operations Chief.
In February 2017, Master Sergeant Robles was promoted to his current rank of Master Gunnery Sergeant and received orders to 2d Battalion, 8th Marines, 8th Marine Regiment, 2d Marine Division, Camp Lejeune, North Carolina where he served as the Battalion Operations Chief in support of Forward Deployment Battalion-East 18.1 deployment, Okinawa Japan.
In November 2018, Master Gunnery Sergeant Robles received orders to Headquarters Company, 5th Marine Regiment and is currently serving as the Regimental Operations Chief.
