Sgt. Samuel R. Lott, a 23-year-old motor transportation operator from Mojave Valley, Ariz., with Headquarters and Support Company, Regimental Combat Team 1, is promoted Oct. 1 at Camp Ramadi, Iraq. During Lott’s first deployment, he broke his ankle during physical training. During his current tour, while conducting training operations, he fell from a vehicle and broke his collarbone. These injuries may have slowed him down, but not enough to make him ineffective to the regiment. (Official U.S. Marine Corps photo by Cpl. Stephen McGinnis) (RELEASED)
