Mann the Navy and Marine Medal for actions while serving at 3d Assault Amphibian Battalion in July of 2013. Mr.Mann put his own life at risk to save two fellow Marines during training in Camp Pendleton, California.

A local Afghan child peeks around the corner as Cpl. Frank Villa, a team leader with 2nd Squad, 1st Platoon, Lima Company, posts security, during a patrol in Wishtan, Feb. 22. Villa, currently deployed with 3rd Battalion, 7th Marine Regiment, talked to as many local Afghans as possible during the afternoon patrol. At times, Afghan children surrounded the patrol, asking questions in Dari and Pashto, the two most common languages in Afghanistan.
