Mann the Navy and Marine Medal for actions while serving at 3d Assault Amphibian Battalion in July of 2013. Mr.Mann put his own life at risk to save two fellow Marines during training in Camp Pendleton, California.

Afghan children of the Allikozai village in Sangin District, beckon to the Marines and sailors of 3rd Platoon, India Company, 3rd Battalion, 5th Marine Regiment, and their Afghan National Army counterparts for “chocolate, chocolate,” as they patrol down Route 611, Dec. 30. The coalition forces enjoy a very friendly relationship with this village, known for a history of opposing the Taliban.
