Mann the Navy and Marine Medal for actions while serving at 3d Assault Amphibian Battalion in July of 2013. Mr.Mann put his own life at risk to save two fellow Marines during training in Camp Pendleton, California.

MARINE CORPS BASE CAMP PENDLETON, Calif. - Sergeant Major Slattery retires from the U.S. Marine Corps after 30 years of faithful service and passes his duties and responsibilities as 3d Assault Amphibian Battalion to Sgt. Maj. Garcia on May 5, 2017, at Camp Pendleton, Calif.
