MARINE CORPS BASE CAMP PENDLETON, Calif. – Marines serving with Echo Company, 2nd Battalion, 5th Marine Regiment, fill sandbags to prepare targets and objectives for live-fire training on Range 800 here, Aug. 12, 2013. The company conducted day and night platoon attacks reinforced by a combined anti-armor team, mortar fire and machine gun fire as one of their last training exercises before deploying in support of the 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit. The 31st MEU is capable of conducting limited contingency operations, amphibious operations and crisis response in the Asia-Pacific region.
