Gunnery Sgt. Nelson Hammer, the logistics chief with Regimental Combat Team 7, receives an Army Commendation Medal from Col. Hammer received the award for ensuring the ADT III soldiers received the gear and logistics required to complete their mission. Hammer, a native of Houston, Texas, said he was doing his job to provide support to the units under RCT-7. Editor's Note: Georgia Agricultural Development Team III provides mentorship and agricultural training to Afghans in northern Helmand province in order to develop and sustain agricultural, irrigation and livestock capabilities.
