Cpl. Luis Martinez, the warehouse noncommissioned officer in charge with Regimental Combat Team 7, traveled throughout the country with the Afghan National Security Forces for eight months as part of a security detachment. Martinez, a 20-year-old native of Phoenix, said he enjoyed seeing the Afghan countryside and learning more about the Afghan culture, but he also loves working within his military occupational specialty of supply. "Whether it's just handing out pens and paper or loaning out thousands of dollars of equipment, supply is highly significant to mission accomplishment," Martinez said. "Even a pair a socks can be a game changer."

CAMP LEATHERNECK Afghanistan - Cpl. Luis Martinez, the warehouse noncommissioned officer in charge with Regimental Combat Team 7, traveled throughout the country with the Afghan National Security Forces for eight months as part of a security detachment. Martinez, a 20-year-old native of Phoenix, said he enjoyed seeing the Afghan countryside and learning more about the Afghan culture, but he also loves working within his military occupational specialty of supply. "Whether it's just handing out pens and paper or loaning out thousands of dollars of equipment, supply is highly significant to mission accomplishment," Martinez said. "Even a pair a socks can be a game changer."
