3rd Battalion, 1st Marines Command Religious Program (CRP)
Lieutenant Chad Laughrey is a native of Andover, Kansas. Prior to entering Active Duty in the Navy, he served he served as a pastor for 15 years and taught communications courses at University of Nebraska at Kearney. He is endorsed by the Chaplaincy Endorsement Commission.
Chaplain Laughrey accepted his commission in September, 2016. After completing Officer Development School and Naval Chaplains Basic Course, he received orders to Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton in December, 2016. He served as the Headquarters and Support Battalion chaplain as well as the Marine Corps Logistics Base Barstow chaplain until December, 2019.
In December 2019, Chaplain Laughrey transferred to 1st Marine Division, 3rd Battalion, 1st Marines where he currently serves as the battalion chaplain.
Chaplain Laughrey holds a Bachelors in Biblical Literature from Ozark Christian College. He earned a Masters of Arts in Pastoral Leadership from Cincinnati Christian University in Cincinnati, Ohio and a Masters of Divinity equivalency from Lincoln Christian University in Lincoln, Illinois. He also received his Doctor of Ministry from Nazarene Theological Seminary in Kansas City, Missouri.
