W.A. Abdulameer (second from left), a linguist with the Port of Entry Transition Team (POETT) in Trebil, Iraq, translates Iraqi customs police records during a Nov. 3 patrol of the international port, which serves as the major commerce route through which commercial and passenger vehicles travel between Iraq and Jordan. While doing an internet search for career opportunities, Adbulameer learned of U.S. government agencies looking to hire native Iraqi Arabic linguists in the U.S. to go back to Iraq to assist Coalition forces in handing over the security and governance of the country to the Iraqis.::r::::n::
