ARMY NATIONAL TRAINING CENTER FORT IRWIN, Calif. - Corporal Stephen Womer, Light Armored Vehicle Repairman, Headquarters and Service Company, 1st Light Armored Reconnaissance Battalion, and a native of New Castle, Del., scans the area while on a convoy during a weeklong field exercise here, during Nov. 18 to Nov. 24, 2013. Lieutenant Col. Gilbert Juarez, 1st LAR commanding officer, and a native of San Diego, said training on an Army base allows Marines and soldiers to learn from one another how to conduct training. The Marines conducted a 175 mile road march from their home in Camp Pendleton to Fort Irwin to use the Army base’s training facilities.
