Sgt. Maj. Timothy Rudd, the battalion sergeant major of 2nd Battalion, 8th Marine Regiment, Regimental Combat Team 7, lowers the flag for his father here June 16, 2013. Rudd raised the flag to show his appreciation and love for his father. "Raising this flag was something I felt I owed to my father," said Rudd, a native of Post, Texas. "It was the least I could to do to show my gratitude for all that he's done for me over the years."
