Executive Officer, 1st Tank Battalion
Major H. Parker Consaul

Maj Consaul reported to Officer Candidate School in Quantico, VA in January 2004 and accepted a commission as a Second Lieutenant on 26 March 2004.  He immediately checked into The Basic School and graduated in Oct 2004.  He then attended the Armor Basic Officer Leadership Course at Fort Knox, KY where he graduated in March 2005 and earned the 1802 Armor Officer MOS.

Upon reporting to 1st Tank Battalion, 1st Marine Division (Rein) in March 2005, he assumed the billet of 3rd Platoon Commander in Company B.  Deploying to Iraq in September of 2005, he led his tank platoon in combat operations in the Haditha Triad area of Iraq until Apr 2006.  Upon returning from Iraq, he was selected to deploy as the Tank Platoon Commander attached to Battalion Landing Team, 3rd Battalion, 1st Marines with the 13th Marine Expeditionary Unit.  Getting under-way in May of 2007, he again led his tank platoon in combat operations throughout areas north of Fallujah when the 13th MEU deployed to Iraq.  Returning from the MEU in December 2007, he held the billet of H&S Company Executive Officer until he conducted PCS orders to Headquarters Marine Corps in Quantico, VA.

Maj Consaul checked into the G3/5 at Combat Development and Integration Command (CD&I) in July 2008.  As Staff Officer for the Deputy Commandant of CD&I, he wrote Marine Corps concepts and long term strategy.  Serving in that billet for two years, he was chosen to attend resident PME, also located at Quantico.  Graduating from Expeditionary Warfare School in May 2011, he received orders back to 1st Tank Battalion.  Upon returning to the battalion, Maj Consaul became the Company Commander for Company E; however, within two weeks he took on an individual augment billet as the Team Leader for an Afghan National Civil Order Police (ANCOP) Training and Advisor Team.  Deploying to Afghanistan in support of OEF 12-1 in November 2011 and returning June 2012, his team advised and executed combat operations with an ANCOP Battalion in Kabul and the Helmand Province.   After returning from Afghanistan, Maj Consaul assumed command of Company C, 1st Tank Battalion, in June 2012. Chosen to be the Battalion’s Operations Officer in April 2013, Maj Consaul held both positions concurrently until he relinquished command of Company C in June 2013.  As the Operations Officer, he controlled the Battalion during four Division live-fire exercises, Steel Knight ’13, ’14, and Desert Scimitar ’13, ’14. He held the billet of Operations Officer until he detached from 1st Tank Battalion on June 2014.

Maj Consaul joined Marine Corps Systems Command in July 2014 and assumed the position as Team Leader, Heavy Team, for the Product Manager, Anti-Armor Systems, Infantry Weapon Systems.  He served at Systems Command for three years before being selected for Marine Corps Command and Staff College.  Earning his masters in military studies, he graduated in May 2018 and reported back to 1st Tank battalion where he currently holds the billet of Battalion Executive Officer.

 His personal awards and decorations include the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal with Combat Distinguishing Device (Gold Star in lieu of third award), the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal, and the Combat Action Ribbon (Gold Star in lieu of second award).
