Colonel Harrison was born on Camp Pendleton, California. He was commissioned through the United States Naval Academy in 1999 and holds a Bachelor of Science in Political Science.
After attending The Basic School and Field Artillery Basic Officer’s Course, he served in 2nd Battalion, 11th Marine Regiment as a Guns Platoon Commander, Artillery Forward Observer, Battalion Artillery Liaison Officer, and Regimental Assistant Fire Support Coordinator in support of Battalion Landing Team 2/5 as part of 31st MEU; 2nd Battalion, 5th Marine Regiment during Operation Iraqi Freedom, and Fifth Marine Regiment.
From November 2003 to July 2007, Colonel Harrison deployed twice with 26th MEU(SOC) in support of LF5F/LF6F as a Target Information Officer, Fire Support Officer, Information Officer, IJSTO Planner and Lead Exercise Planner.
From 2008 to 2011, Colonel Harrison served with 10th Marine Regiment, where he commanded Headquarters Battery, 10th Marine Regiment, and Battery G, 2nd Battalion, 10th Marine Regiment. He served as the Operations Officer for 1st Battalion, 10th Marine Regiment, and subsequently as the Regimental Fire Support Coordinator for 2nd Marine Regiment where he integrated lethal fires with the effects provided by a Tactical Psychological Operations Team, Female Engagement Team, Information Operations Section, and a Combat Camera Section during Operation Enduring Freedom (OEF) 10.1.
Colonel Harrison served as a Military Faculty Advisor at the Expeditionary Warfare School from 2011 to 2014. He was the course manager for the Fires Course, Artillery Occupational Field Expansion Course, and the sub-course manager for Amphibious Fundamentals.
Colonel Harrison served as the Battalion Executive Officer, 2nd Battalion, 11th Marine Regiment, and the Regimental Logistics Officer, 11th Marine Regiment from 2014 to 2016.
Colonel Harrison commanded 1st Battalion, 12th Marine Regiment from 2016 to 2018. Following command, he attended top-level school, and then was assigned to the Joint Staff where he served as an Action Officer within the J-39 Special Projects and Innovation Division from June 2019 to August 2021. He currently serves as the Special Technical Activities Branch Head in Plans, Policies, and Operations, Headquarters Marine Corps.
Colonel Harrison is a graduate of the National War College where he earned a Master of Science in National Security Strategy with a concentration in the Joint Land Air Sea Strategic Special Program. He is a graduate of Syracuse University Maxwell School’s National Security Management Course.
