Lieutenant Colonel P. C. Holland

Lieutenant Colonel Patrick Holland is a native of Waco, Texas and a 2005 graduate of Sam Houston State University with a BS in Political Science. In 2006, Lieutenant Colonel Holland was commissioned through the Officer Candidate Couse program.

Upon completion of The Basic School and Infantry Officer Course, Lieutenant Colonel Holland was assigned to 3d Battalion, 7th Marines (3/7) from 2007 to 2009. While at 3/7, he served as a Rifle Platoon Commander and 81mm Mortar Platoon Commander, deploying twice in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom.        

From 2009 to 2012, Lieutenant Colonel Holland was assigned to 3d Reconnaissance Battalion. During this time, he served as a Reconnaissance Platoon Commander with the 31st MEU on its 2010 spring patrol and as the Battalion’s Headquarters and Service Company Commander where in 2011 he deployed to Sangin, Afghanistan in support of Operation Enduring Freedom.

In 2012, Lieutenant Colonel Holland transferred to Fort Moore, Georgia where he was a student at the U.S. Army’s Maneuver Captains Career Course.

From late 2012 to 2015, Lieutenant Colonel Holland was assigned to Camp Lejeune where he served with 1st Battalion, 6th Marines (1/6). As a Rifle Company Commander, he deployed with BLT 1/6 and the 22D MEU in 2014 to the Fifth Fleet AOR where he participated in a number of security cooperation exercises and provided contingency support for ongoing efforts within Iraq.

Assigned to The Basic School from 2015 to 2018, Lieutenant Colonel Holland served as a Warfighting Instructor, Staff Platoon Commander, Company Commander for the Warfighting Instructor Company, Section Head in the Instructor Group, and a Company Commander for the Basic Officer Course 2-18.  

In the 2018 to 2019 academic year, Lieutenant Colonel Holland attended the Advanced Command and Staff Course at the United Kingdom Defense Academy where he graduated with merit and earned a Master of Arts in Defense Studies from King’s College London.

In 2019, Lieutenant Colonel Holland was assigned to the 22D MEU, II MEF. As the Operations Officer he deployed twice, first in 2020 as part of SPMAGTF Crisis Response – Africa 20.2 and again in 2022 to the Sixth Fleet AOR with the KEARSARGE Amphibious Readiness Group.

Lieutenant Colonel Holland is a graduate of the Expeditionary Warfare School and Command and Staff College through the USMC College of Distance Education and Training. He holds a second advanced degree, a Masters of International Service, from American University, School of International Service, in Washington D.C.
