Sergeant Major, 2nd Battalion, 7th Marines
SgtMaj. NATHANIEL BRADLEY

Sergeant Major Bradley is a native of Saint Petersburg, Florida.  He reported to Parris Island, South Carolina on November 27, 1995 as a contract Private First Class for training with Company I, 3rd Recruit Training Battalion followed by Marine Combat Training at Camp Geiger, North Carolina (NC) and Motor Transport Operator School at Camp Johnson, NC.

 

In June 1996, he reported to Marine Wing Support Squadron 172, Marine Air Control Group 17, Okinawa, Japan for duty as a Motor Transport Operator.  On August 1, 1996 he was promoted to the rank of Lance Corporal and participated in exercise Tandem Thrust in Gladstone, Australia.

 

In June 1997, he reported to Marine Air Support Squadron 3, Marine Air Control Group 11 Camp Pendleton, California (CA) for duty as a Motor Transport Operator. On November 1, 1997 he was promoted to the rank of Corporal and deployed to the Middle East where he participated in Operation Southern Watch in the Persian Gulf. On May 1, 1999 he was promoted to the rank of Sergeant.

 

On July 5, 2000 he reported to Drill Instructor School (DI School), Marine Corps Recruit Depot Parris Island, South Carolina (SC).  Upon completion from DI School, he was assigned to Company M, 3rd Recruit Training Battalion for duty as a Drill Instructor (DI).  He served in the billets of Drill Instructor, Senior Drill Instructor, and Series Gunnery Sergeant.  He also served as a Black Shirt Instructor at Weapons Field Training Battalion at the Crucible.  During his tour as a DI he was meritoriously promoted on July 2, 2002 to the rank of Staff Sergeant.

 

On October 21, 2003 after a successful tour of DI Duty, he reported to Combat Logistic Battalion 1, 1st Marine Logistic Group for duty as a Motor Transport Chief.  In January 2004 he deployed to Al Asad Iraq with Combat Logistic Company 117, Combat Logistic Battalion 7 as Truck Master for OIF I.  In February 2006 he commenced a Second tour in Al Asad Iraq as Platoon Sergeant for First Platoon Combat Logistic Company 117, Combat Logistic Battalion 7 for OIF II.  Upon returning from his second tour in Iraq he was transferred to Combat Logistic Battalion 5 where he severed as Platoon Sergeant, Truck Master, and Company Gunnery Sergeant. On December 1, 2006 he was promoted to the rank of Gunnery Sergeant.

 

On August 2, 2007 he reported to Headquarters Battalion, 1st Marine Division, (Division G-4) for duty as the 1st Marine Division Roadmaster where he was a vital asset to the logistic community.  He provided assistance to Motor Transport Officer’s and Chief’s on convoy operations as well as convoy escorts.  On February 09, 2010 he was frocked to the rank of First Sergeant and assigned to Third Battalion, Eleventh Marines Regiment, 1st Marine Division, Marine Air Ground Combat Center, Twenty-nine Palms, CA for duty as Battery First Sergeant for Battery I.

 

In January 2011, First Sergeant Bradley deployed to Okinawa, Japan with Battalion Landing Team 2nd Battalion 5th Marine Regiment, 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit, for the 2011 Southern Patrol.

 

In August 2012, First Sergeant Bradley participated in Khan Quest in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, a Multinational Peace Support Operations Exercise in the Five Hills Training Area.

 

In February 2013, First Sergeant Bradley was assigned to 1st & 2d Platoon, Truck Company, Ebensburg, Pennsylvania for duty as Inspector-Instructor Staff First Sergeant.

 

On 18 March 2016, First Sergeant Bradley reported to 3d Intelligence Battalion for duty as the Headquarter and Support Company, Company First Sergeant.

 

In October 2016, First Sergeant Bradley transferred to Intelligence Operations Company, 3d Intelligence Battalion for duty as the Company First Sergeant.

 

In May 2017, First Sergeant Bradley assumed the billet as Battalion Sergeant Major for 3d Intelligence Battalion and served in that billet until 13 September 2017 and assumed his regular duty as the Intelligence Operations Company First Sergeant.

 

On 1 December 2017 Sergeant Major Bradley was frocked to his present rank and transferred on 4 December 2017 to 7th Communication Battalion for duty as the Battalion Sergeant Major. 

 

On 8 January 2019 Sergeant Major Bradley transferred and reported to 2nd Battalion, 7th  Marines where he is currently serving in the billet as Battalion Sergeant Major.

  

Sergeant Major Bradley’s awards includes the Coast Guard Commendation Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal with 1 Gold Star, Navy & Marine Achievement Medal with 2 Gold Stars, Navy Unit Commendation, Navy Meritorious Unit Commendation with 2 Bronze Stars, Marine Corps Good Conduct Medal with 1 Silver Stars and 1 Bronze Star, National Defense Service Medal with 1 Bronze Stars, Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, Iraqi Campaign Medal with 1 Bronze Star, Global War On Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, Global war On Terrorism Service Medal, Sea Service Deployment Ribbon with 1 Silver Star, Marine Corps Drill Instructor Ribbon.
