Cpl. Ivan R. Romero, a 22-year-old squad leader with 1st Combat Engineer Battalion, Regimental Combat Team 5, unwinds a spool of detonation cord that will ignite explosives during a training exercise at Combat Outpost Rawah, Iraq, Dec. 17. The combat engineers, who are supporting Task Force 3rd Battalion, 7th Marine Regiment, RCT-5, discharged four different types of explosives over the course of three detonations.
