A military working dog runs toward Lance Cpl. Trevor M. Smith (left), a 20-year-old combat tracker dog handler from Myrtle Beach, S.C., as he tries to escape the custody of Cpl. Austin T. French, a 21-year-old patrol dog handler from Claremore, Okla., while demonstrating the capabilities of military working dogs at Combat Outpost Rawah, Iraq, Dec. 3. Both Marines are with Task Force Military Police, I Marine Expeditionary Force, and are working in support of Task Force 3rd Battalion, 7th Marine Regiment, Regimental Combat Team 5 to provide multiple dogs for bomb-sniffing, patrolling and other tasks that help Marines in the field.
