Marines with Support Platoon, Company B, 1st Combat Engineer Battalion, Regimental Combat Team 5 march with a "birthday cake" Nov. 13 to celebrate the Marine Corps' 233rd birthday in Rutbah, Iraq. Because the Marines didn't have an actual birthday cake to use, they used glazed pastries instead. While conducting a mission in the area, the platoon stopped to conduct their own Marine Corps birthday ceremony to honor present, past and fallen Marines.
