Sergeant Jay J. Richardson, a section leader with Jump Platoon, 3rd Battalion, 4th Marine Regiment, Regimental Combat Team 5, patrols through a valley to ensure no one is hiding in the brush in western al-Anbar province, Iraq, Aug. 21. The Jump Platoon is responsible for keeping the battalion commander safe during operations. Recently, the platoon has been performing alternative missions like helping the battalionâ??s law enforcement professional. Theyâ??ve provide security for the LEP while he conducts investigations.::r::::n::
