Lance Cpl. Adam J. Allen, 20, a rifleman with 1st Platoon, Company I, 3rd Battalion, 4th Marine Regiment, Regimental Combat Team 5, makes his way up a hill during a survey patrol in Hit, Iraq, July 22. Marines with 1st Platoon escorted the Army Information Operations Team that is attached to the battalion through the city to gather information from the locals. The objective was to see how well the government is communicating with its people.
