Corporal Erica Lila, 20, a switchboard operator with Headquarters Battalion, 1st Marine Division (Forward), gives Petty Officer 1st Class Boyd Lewis, 43, a division religious program specialist with Headquarters Bn., 1st MarDiv (Fwd), his mail at Camp Leatherneck, Afghanistan, Sept. 26. “If I don’t get my job done, then Marines won’t be able to hear from their families back home,” said Lila, a Houston, Texas, native. Lila’s job requires her to make sure the entire battalion receives their correspondence on time while deployed in support of Operation Enduring Freedom.
