Staff Sgt. Francisco Martinez, a platoon sergeant with Lima Company, 3rd Battalion, 7th Marine Regiment, throws a hook at Cpt. Mark O’Sullivan, a company commander, with 40 Commando, British Royal Marines, during a boxing match, Sept. 22. Martinez, a 27-year-old native of St. Paul, Minn., has been boxing for 15 years and was a golden glove boxer. The boxing bout was an opportunity for U.S. and UK Marines to train together, attracting many cheers from the deployed service members.
