A Marine with 1st Tank Battalion, 1st Marine Division drives an M1A1 Abrams tank off of a Landing Craft Air Cushion with Assault Craft Unit 5 during the amphibious assault training portion of a Marine Corps Combat Readiness Evaluation on Camp Pendleton, Calif., August 2, 2016. During a MCCRE, Marines perform various events to determine the combat readiness of the unit. The LCAC is the only vehicle capable of transporting an M1A1 Abrams tank from an amphibious ship to land.
