General John Kelly, the commanding general for United States Southern Command, delivers a speech to Marines and sailors serving with 5th Marine Regiment here June 6, 2013. General Kelly spoke of the heroism displayed by the Marines and sailors of 5th Marines during the past century. The memorial honors Marines and sailors who served with 5th Marines or under Regimental Combat Team 5 who gave the ultimate sacrifice during combat operations in Afghanistan.
