Aircraft, vehicles and artillery are displayed for the retirement ceremony of Maj. Gen. Melvin G. Spiese, the deputy commanding general of I Marine Expeditionary Force, at Camp Pendleton, Calif., March 1. The display featured air and ground equipment unique to the Marine Air Ground Task Force. Spiese, from Chicago, completed 36 years of honorable service and was retired by the Honorable Robert O. Work, Under Secretary of the Navy.
