Marines with Regimental Combat Team 7 and Georgian soldiers with the 12th Georgian Battalion listen during a patrol brief Jan. 29, here. Colonel A. E. “Sparky” Renforth, RCT-7 commanding officer, and Sgt. Maj. Scott Samuels, the RCT-7 sergeant major, visited the 12th Georgian Battalion to show the Marines’ continued support of their combat operations. The Georgian soldiers partner with the Afghan National Security Force to provide security in the Helmand River Valley. Renforth said the Marines will do everything they can to provide support to the Georgians as they mentor the Afghan forces.
