CAMP PENDLETON, Calif. -- Sergeant Maj. Bryan K. Zickefoose assumed the post as sergeant major of 1st Marine Regiment from Sgt. Maj. Don W. Gallagher during a relief-and-appointment ceremony here July 2.
Zickefoose entered the Marine Corps in 1985 where he has since served in numerous locations across the globe, to include Okinawa, Somalia, Iraq and Afghanistan. He most recently served as the sergeant major of Recruiting Station Oklahoma City, Okla.
Gallagher was assigned as the sergeant major of 1st Marine Regiment from December 2006 through July 2009. He is scheduled to assume the post as the sergeant major of 3rd Marine Air Wing in August.
