Commanding Officer, 11th Marine Regiment
Colonel Patrick F. Eldridge

Colonel Eldridge was born in Connecticut. He attended Salve Regina University and graduated with a B.A.S in Secondary Education and History.  He was commissioned a Second Lieutenant in December 1998.

Upon completion of The Basic School and the Field Artillery Officer Basic Course at Ft. Sill, Ok, he was assigned to 1st Battalion, 11th Marines at Camp Pendleton, California.  During this tour, Lieutenant Eldridge served as the Fire Direction Officer, Liaison Officer, and Executive Officer for Charlie Battery. He then served as the Battalion Fire Direction Officer and Assistant Operations Officer

Lieutenant Eldridge then reported to 1st Air Naval Gunfire Liaison Company, Camp Pendleton in April 2002. During this tour, he held the billets of Firepower Control Team Leader and Brigade Platoon Commander. As Firepower Control Team Leader, Lieutenant Eldridge deployed to Iraq in support of Operation IRAQI FREEDOM I as the Joint Terminal Attack Controller for Juliet Company, 42 Commando, Royal Marines. In August 2004, he deployed in support of Operation IRAQI FREEDOM II as a Joint Terminal Attack Controller for the 11th Marine Expeditionary Unit participating in the Battle of Najaf and Operation AL FAJR in Fallujah. In August 2005, Captain Eldridge reported to Expeditionary Warfare School in Quantico, VA.

In June 2006, Captain Eldridge reported to 5th Battalion, 10th Marines, Camp Lejeune, NC, where his billets included Logistics Officer, Headquarters Battery Commander, Civil Affairs Team Leader, Commanding Officer Romeo Battery, and Battalion Operations Officer. During this tour, he deployed to Iraq in support of Operation IRAQI FREEDOM 06-08 as the Civil Affairs Team Leader for RCT-2, District of Hit, Al Anbar Province. In 2009, Major Eldridge assumed the duties of Rear Party Officer in Charge, 2d Brigade Headquarters Group. In August 2009, Major Eldridge reported to the College of Naval Command and Staff in Newport, RI, and earned a M. A. in National Security and Strategic Studies.

In July 2010, Major Eldridge reported to United States Northern Command, Colorado Springs, CO where he served in the North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD) – U.S. Northern Command J33 as Land Domain Chief, and J73 Qualification Training as Chief Instructor Land Domain.

In July 2013, Major Eldridge reported to 2d Battalion, 11th Marines where he served as the Battalion Executive Officer. In March 2014, Major Eldridge reported to Marine Expeditionary Brigade – Afghanistan where he served as the Fires and Targeting Officer for Regional Command Southwest, Helmand Province in support of Operation ENDURING FREEDOM. In March 2015, Major Eldridge reported to I Marine Expeditionary Force, Camp Pendleton where he served in the Fires and Effects Coordination Center as the Fires Plans Officer and Targeting Officer.

In June of 2016, Lieutenant Colonel Eldridge assumed command of 2d Battalion, 11th Marines. Upon completion of his command tour in June of 2018, he reported to his Top Level School assignment as the CMC’s Fellow to the International Security Studies Program, Yale University.  In July 2019 Lieutenant Colonel Eldridge reported to the Marine Corps Command and Staff College where he served as faculty advisor and Leadership Department Head.

In July 2021, Colonel Eldridge reported to III Marine Expeditionary Force, Okinawa, Japan. During this tour, Colonel Eldridge served as the first Deputy Commander for Integration and Theater Littoral Warfare, Expeditionary Strike Group SEVEN / Task Force 76.

Colonel Eldridge is married with four children. 

Colonel Eldridge's personal decorations include the Purple Heart, Defense Meritorious Service Medal, Meritorious Service Medal with four gold stars, Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal with two combat distinguishing devices and two gold stars, and the Combat Action Ribbon.
