1stSgt Robert A. Anderson

First Sergeant Robert A. Anderson is a native of Klamath Falls Oregon.  He graduated from North Medford High School in June of 1996.  After graduation he reported to MCRD San Diego on October 15th 1996 to 3rd Recruit Training Battalion Lima Company Platoon 3038.  Upon Graduation on January 10th 1997 he was ordered to report to Marine Combat Training School of Infantry West, Camp Pendleton CA.  Graduating in February 1997 First Sergeant Anderson received orders to Fort Knox Kentucky to attend Tank Maintenance School to become a 2146 M1A1 Main Battle Tank Technician.  He graduated from this school in September of 1997.

First Sergeant Anderson then reported to 1st Tank Battalion 29 Palms CA, in October of 1997 where he was assigned to Headquarters Company as mechanic.  He was then move to Bravo Company to hold the billet as platoon mechanic 2nd platoon.  As 2nd platoon mechanic he participated in five Combined Arms Exercises, six gunnery qualifications and one research and development trial at China Lake Naval Weapons Base.  In 1999 First Sergeant Anderson was promoted to Corporal where he became the Ramp chief for Bravo Company, a billet reserved for the Senior Sergeant.  During this time First Sergeant Anderson led his maintenance team in three Combined Arms Exercises, four gunnery qualifications and two amphibious operational off loads.  In 2000 First Sergeant Anderson was promoted to Sergeant and became the Maintenance Chief For Bravo Company a Gunnery Sergeants Billet.  He led his Maintenance Section through two gunnery qualifications, two Combined Arms Exercises, two Logistical Readiness Exercises, one Maritime Prepositioned Force Offload and training exercise in Egypt, and one Mobility exercise receiving excellent marks and fully mission capable for each.  In October 2001 First Sergeant Anderson received orders to the basic recruiters course (BRC) MCRD San Diego.

First Sergeant Anderson Report to BRC in March 2002.  He graduated and was assigned as a canvasing recruiter in 12th Marine Corps District, Recruiting Station Portland Oregon, Recruiting Sub Station East Portland.  He served for one year in and was meritoriously promoted to Staff Sergeant in July 2003.  He was then reassigned to the Sub Station Broadway.  In November of 2003 First Sergeant Anderson was assigned as the Recruiting Substation Medford Staff Non-Commissioned Officer in Charge where he led his Sub Station through a successful 18 months.  He was then given orders to Marine detachment Fort Knox Kentucky to serve as an instructor for his military Occupational Specialty School.

First Sergeant Anderson reported to Fort Knox in June 2005 and Served as an turret section instructor, hull section instructor and platoon Sergeant before receiving orders to Combat Logistics Battalion 7 29 Palms Ca.  First Sergeant checked into Support Company CLB-7 in July 2008 to serve as the tank section Staff Non-Commissioned Officer.  First Sergeant Anderson was promoted to Gunnery Sergeant in September 2008 and was assigned as Support Company Gunnery Sergeant.  He was later assigned to be the First Sergeant for Maintenance Company CLB-7 Forward in OIF.  He also served as the Maintenance Operation Section Chief for CLB-7 Forward in 2009.  Upon returning from Deployment he was reassigned to Support Company Gunnery Sergeant to deploy to OEF in 2011.  When returning from deployment First Sergeant Anderson received orders to 2nd Tank Battalion Camp Lejeune NC. 

First Sergeant Anderson reported to 2nd Tank Battalion in July 2012 and served as Quality Control Chief Maintenance platoon Headquarters and Service Company.  He was then transferred to Delta Company to serve as the Maintenance Chief.  First Sergeant Anderson took over Delta Maintenance Section and held the Battalions best readiness through his six month tenure.  In December 2012 He was selected to his present rank and received orders to1st Battalion 10th Marines to Serve as Charlie Battery First Sergeant.  He led his Marines through two regimental exercises, one intergraded Training Exercise in 29 Palms CA and a deployment to Okinawa in support of the Unit Deployment Program (UDP).  Upon returning from UDP First Sergeant Anderson was assigned to Headquarters Battery 1/10 and then to Bravo Battery 1/10.   First Sergeant Anderson now serves at 3D Battalion 4TH Marines.



 
1st Marine Division
