Major Stevens currently serves as the Battalion Executive Officer, 5th Battalion, 11th Marine Regiment, 1st Marine Division, Camp Pendleton, California
Major Stevens is a native of Omaha, Nebraska. In 2000, he received his Bachelor of Arts degree in History from the University of Nebraska. He completed Officer Candidate School in April 2001 and was commissioned a Second Lieutenant in the Marine Corps Reserve.
Following The Basic School and Artillery Basic Officer Course, Major Stevens was assigned to 3d Battalion, 11th Marines. During that tour, he served as Forward Observer, Company K, 3d Battalion, 4th Marines during Operation Iraqi Freedom I, and as Fire Direction Officer and Battery Executive Officer for Battery L, 3d Battalion, 12th Marines in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom II.
In June 2005, Major Stevens transferred to Combined Arms Training Center, Camp Fuji, Japan, where he served as the Headquarters Battalion Operations Officer and Range Control Officer.
In July 2006, Major Stevens transferred to MCRD San Diego. He served as a Series Commander, Company K, Commanding Officer, Company I, and Assistant Operations Officer, Recruit Training Regiment.
In January 2009, Major Stevens reported to Fort Sill, Oklahoma for Field Artillery Captain’s Career Course, graduating in July 2009. Following graduation, in August 2009, Major Stevens transferred to Spokane, Washington and assumed duties as Inspector-Instructor, Battery P, 5th Battalion, 14th Marine Regiment. In August 2012, Major Stevens reported to Marine Corps Command and Staff College, graduating in June 2013.
In July 2013, Major Stevens reported to 11th Marine Regiment and took command of HQ Battery, 11th Marine Regiment. He relinquished command in March 2014 and was assigned temporary duty orders to the inaugural Special Purpose Marine Air Ground Task Force – Crisis Response – Central Command (SPMAGTF-CR-CC), serving as the Force Effect Coordinator. While deployed with the SPMAGTF-CR-CC, Major Stevens was deployed to Iraq, filling the billet of Task Force Al Asad Force Effect Coordinator. Following redeployment, Major Stevens returned to 11th Marine Regiment and assumed his current duties as Executive Officer, 5th Battalion.
Major Stevens’ personal decorations include the Navy Commendation Medal with combat “V” with three gold stars, the Navy Achievement Medal with combat “V”, and the Combat Action Ribbon.
