Battalion Sergeant Major, 1st Battalion, 4th Marines
SgtMaj F. Audu

Sergeant Major Audu enlisted in the Marine Corps in July of 2001 and conducted Recruit Training at MCRD Parris Island. Upon completion, she reported to Marine Combat Training at Camp Geiger, N.C. and shortly after reported to Field Radio Operator Course in 29 Palms, CA. Upon graduation, she received orders to Headquarter Battalion Communication Company, 1st Marines Division in 2002 where she served as a Field Radio Operator. She successfully completed two deployments to Iraq in support of ongoing operations and was promoted to the rank of Lance Corporal, Corporal and Sergeant.

In May of 2005, Sergeant Audu received orders to I Marine Expeditionary (IMEF) Force G6 where she worked in the I MEF COMSEC Management Office (MCMO) as the Electronic Key Management System (EKMS) Manger and completed one deployment to Iraq. During the deployment she was attached to Regimental Combat Team (RCT) 1 in support of operations in Baharia, Iraq. In 2008, Sergeant Audu was promoted to the rank of Staff Sergeant and completed Career course at Camp Pendleton, CA in 2009. In October 2009, Staff Sergeant Audu received orders to the Officers Communications School in Quantico, VA. While assigned to the Advanced Instruction Group (AIG), Staff Sergeant Audu filled the billets of Oriented Communications Planner, Faculty Advisor, Curriculum Developer, and Pearson VUE Testing Administrator. As a Faculty Advisor, she immediately gained the trust and confidence of senior student officers attending the Advanced Communications Officer Course (ACOC) and Warrant Officer Communications Courses (WCC). As a Radio Chief, she reached across the communications domain to gain a better understanding of data systems by becoming certified as a Cisco Certified Network Administrator (CCNA), level 1. She also attended Transmission Control Protocol/Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) courses, completed the Wireless Point-to-Point Link (WPPLD) course, and the Support Wide Area Network (SWAND) course. Staff Sergeant Audu attended Radio Chief Course in 29 Palms, CA where she was ranked second in her class.

In January 2013, Staff Sergeant Audu received orders to the Wounded Warrior Regiment (WWR) in Quantico, VA where she served as the SNCOIC of the Wounded Warrior Operation Center. Staff Sergeant Audu coordinated and assisted with the management of transitions, rehabilitation services, and helped develop and produce robust reporting procedures for suicide attempts and ideations throughout the Marine Corps. Staff Sergeant Audu also conducted case management and outreach effort to active duty, reserve, and separated Marines who had been wounded, ill, or injured. Staff Sergeant Audu was promoted to the rank of Gunnery Sergeant during this period in 2013.

Gunnery Sergeant Audu received orders to 7th Communications Battalion, Okinawa Japan in September of 2014 and served as the SNCOIC for Transmissions Platoon, Bravo Company. While attached to 7th Communication Battalion, Gunnery Sergeant Audu led many off island exercises to install communication infrastructures for III MEF and III MEB. Gunnery Sergeant Audu was also assigned as the Radio Data Team lead for the III MEF CG communication team. Gunnery Sergeant Audu completed Advanced Course in December of 2014.

In August of 2016 Gunnery Sergeant Audu attended the Defense Equal Opportunity Management Institute (DEOMI) and became certified as a DoD mediator and an Equal Opportunity Advisor. In January of 2017 Gunnery Sergeant Audu was promoted to the rank of First Sergeant and received orders to be the Inspector Instructor First Sergeant for Third Air Naval Gunfire Liaison Company in Los Angeles, CA. During her assignment there she also served as an instructor for the Reserve First Sergeant Symposium held quarterly in New Orleans, LA.

First Sergeant Audu was assigned to Combat Logistic Regiment-17 in 2020 and served as the Communications Company and Headquarters Company First Sergeant. As a collateral billet she served as the I Marine Logistics Group Corporals Course and Lance Corporal Seminar Director.

In January 2021, First Sergeant Audu was assigned to First Battalion First Marines and served as the Company First Sergeant for Company C. During her assignment, she was deployed with the 11th Marine Expeditionary Unit from August 2021 to March of 2022 In March 2022, First Sergeant Audu was promoted to Sergeant Major and is currently assigned as the Battalion Sergeant Major for First Battalion Fourth Marines.

Sergeant Major Audu is a college graduate who completed her associate degree in general studies with Central Texas College, Bachelors of Science Degree in Psychology with Park University, Masters of Science in Counseling w/ a specialty in Criminal Justice with Liberty University and is a Doctoral Candidate at the University of Southern California DSW program.

Her military awards include (1) Meritorious Service Medal (6) Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medals, and (3) Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medals, Medal.
