Company First Sergeant, 1st Battalion, 4th Marines
1stSgt W. L. Hall

William Hall reported to MCRD, San Diego for recruit training in January 2003. Upon completion of recruit training he was assigned as a student to Marine Combat Training, Camp Pendleton, California then went on to Naval Air Technical Training Center NAS Pensacola, Florida for Aircrew Survival Equipment School. Upon completion of school, he reported to Cherry Point, North Carolina for duty with VMA-231 as a Flight Equipment Technician. From September 2003 to November 2004 then Lance Corporal Hall, excelled rapidly at his MOS. Shortly thereafter, he was meritoriously promoted to Corporal.

In November of 2004 Corporal Hall reported to MCAS Miramar, California to VMFA-134, 4th Marine Air Wing. During his time Corporal Hall took the duties as the NCOIC and senior Collateral Duty Inspector. He also attended Corporals Course in Camp Pendleton. Shortly thereafter, he was promoted to the rank of Sergeant and supported the Squadron for Mojave Viper. In November of 2008 he supported the Weapons and Tactics Instructor exercise in Yuma, Arizona then transferred to MAG-46 after the cadre was completed of VMFA-134.

During his time with MAG-46 Sergeant Hall was tasked with supporting Marine Aviation Logistics Squadron (MALS) - 41 as the Active Duty Liaison NCOIC. Later he took on the duties as the acting MALS-41 Active Duty Maintenance Chief, during which he successfully completed a Marine Corps Administration inspection and orchestrated a two week deployment of the reservist units annual training requirements. In February of 2009 Sergeant Hall received orders to HMH-462. During his time with HMH-462, Sergeant Hall attended Sergeants course where he graduated with honors in June of 2009. Immediately following his short tour with HMH-462, Sergeant Hall received orders to MALS-36 Okinawa, Japan. While in Japan, Sergeant Hall served as Production Control Chief and became a CDQAR of the 800 Division shops 81a and 81b. During his time in Okinawa he was selected and promoted to the rank of Staff Sergeant. After his one year tour was complete, Staff Sergeant Hall received orders back to MCAS Miramar and reported to HMM-163.

In July of 2010 Staff Sergeant Hall became the Aviation Life Support Chief of HMM-163(REIN) and deployed with 13th MEU on a seven month deployment to the Gulf of Aden aboard the USS Boxer. Staff Sergeant Hall became a CDQAR for CH-46's and CDI for the AV-8B platforms. Upon completion of a successful deployment, Staff Sergeant was awarded the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal. Following the MEU, Staff Sergeant Hall assisted in the transition of HMM-163 to VMM-163. Staff Sergeant Hall then completed Career Course at Camp Pendleton in 2012. In January of 2013 Staff Sergeant Hall successfully completed Marine Security Guard (MSG) Training and was assigned to MSG Detachment Barbados as the Detachment Commander. During this tour, the detachment was awarded, Most Improved Detachment of the Year award by the Region 9 headquarters. On June 2015 Staff Sergeant Hall received orders within Region 9 to MSG Detachment Nicaragua. On February 2016, Staff Sergeant completed his tour of MSG and was awarded the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal. In February 2016 Staff Sergeant Hall reported to MALS 16. During this time he assumed the billet of 800 Division SNCOIC and successfully led the 800 Division through a 3rd MAW ALD inspection as Manager for two MALS programs.

On June 0f 2016, Staff Sergeant Hall received orders to VMM-165 as the Flight Equipment Chief. On August 1st, Staff Sergeant Hall was promoted to the rank of Gunnery Sergeant. Gunnery Sergeant Hall during this time became a CDQAR for the MV-22 platform, served as a Maintenance Controller for VMM-363 and deployed with VMM-165 to Special Purpose MAGTF Kuwait. On August 2017, Gunnery Sergeant Hall reported to Advance Course SNCO Academy, Camp Pendleton. November 2017, Gunnery Sergeant Hall reported to 3D MAW Corporal's Course Academy after being selected by the 3D MAW SgtMaj to be the Director. During his time, GySgt Hall supervised and led 12 Corporal's Course Classes, 10 Lance Corporal Seminar's and six train the trainer's courses. Upon completion of the 12 month TAD, Gunnery Sergeant was selected by the MAG-16 SgtMaj to be the MAG-16 PSD 1stSgt. In July 2019, Gunnery Sergeant Hall reported to MATSG-23, AMS-1 NAS Pensacola where he became the SNCOIC for Aviation Life Support Formal Schools. In June 2020, Gunnery Sergeant Hall reported to AMS-1 Headquarters to assume the duties of the Squadron Gunnery Sergeant until July 2021. Gunnery Sergeant Hall was appointed the ALSS Formal School House SNCOIC for Aviation Maintenance Squadron One until he was selected to First Sergeant. On February 2022, First Sergeant Hall received orders to 1st Battalion, 4th Marines, Camp Horno, MCB Camp Pendleton. First Sergeant Hall currently presides as the Headquarters & Service Company First Sergeant for 1/4.

First Sergeant Hall's personal awards include Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (2X Gold star in lieu of third award), Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal.
