Executive Officer, 3D Light Armored Reconnaissance Battalion
Capt. Peter C. Foster

Captain Pete Foster was born in Ft. Belvoir, Virginia, and grew up as an “Army Brat” until graduating with a bachelor’s degree in Sociology from Bloomsburg University where he played basketball and lacrosse.  He was commissioned as a second lieutenant after successfully completing the winter Officer Candidate Course in March 2009.

 

Following graduation from The Basic School and the Basic Communications Officers’ Course, he reported to MACG-28 in Cherry Point, NC, where he served as a Platoon Commander for MWCS-28, B Co. He participated in numerous ACE, GCE, and MEF exercises during this assignment.

 

Captain Foster was then individually augmented to II MEF FWD as a part of the C-6 staff and served as the RNOC (Regional Network Operations Center) Action and Watch Officer from March 2011 – March 2012 in support of OEF.  Upon returning home, he transferred back to MWCS-28 where he became the XO/OPSO of B Co.  After completing numerous training exercises to include WTI, he was selected for Captain, career designated and selected on the MCRC OSO (Officer Selection Officer) board.   

 

In March 2013, he reported to RS Columbia and served as the OSO for Charlotte, NC until June 2016 when he transitioned back to Quantico to attend resident EWS (Expeditionary Warfare School). Upon graduating, Captain Foster received orders to 3d Light Armored Reconnaissance Battalion where he was assigned as the S-6 and is currently serving as the Bn XO.

 

Captain Foster’s awards include a Navy and Marine Corps Achievement medal and a Navy and Marine Corps Commendation medal.
