Captain John Lefebrve

Capt John Lefebvre was born and raised in the Pacific Northwest, and after graduating from Carroll College reported to MCRD San Diego 16 May 1995 for recruit training.  After completing Boot Camp and MCT, he reported to Assault Amphibian Schools Bn in October 1995 for training as an Amphibious Assault Vehicle (AAV) crewman.  Upon earning the 1833 MOS, he reported to MCM Plt, Headquarters and Service Company, 3D Assault Amphibian Bn (3D AA Bn), in December 1995.  During this tour with 3D AA Bn, he served as Mk 154 Linear Mine Clearance AAV crewman, driver and crew chief with MCM Plt, and then transferred to B Co for a Unit Deployment Program to Combat Assault Bn (CAB), 3D Marine Division in 1998.

In September 1999, Sgt Lefebvre reported to Recruiters School, and after graduation served as a recruiter in Eastern Washington from 1999 to 2002.  After completing his tour on recruiting, SSgt Lefebvre reported to C Co, 2D Assault Amphibian Bn in December 2002.

Serving with 2D AA Bn from 2002 to 2007, he deployed twice to Iraq, Hurricane Katrina recovery operations in New Orleans, Louisiana, and a 24th MEU deployed to Southwest Asia and Beirut.  GySgt Lefebvre was selected for the Enlisted Commissioning Program and reported to Officer Candidate School in Sept 2007.

After commissioning, 2ndLt Lefebvre completed the Basic Officer Course at The Basic School, Quantico VA, and reported for training as an AAV Officer at AAS Bn in late 2008.  Upon completion of training, he reported to 3rd AA Bn in Dec 2008 and served as platoon commander and company Executive Officer.  He deployed to CAB, Okinawa Japan in 2009.

1stLt Lefebvre reported to Tactical Training and Exercise Control Group, Twentynine Palms, CA in April 2011 for duty as an exercise controller for nine Exercise Mojave Vipers and nine Integrated Training Exercises.  Capt Lefebvre reported to 3D AA Bn in July 2014, and assumed command of Headquarters and Service Company October 2014. 































 































Capt Lefebvre’s personal awards include the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal with gold star and combat distinguishing device, and the Combat Action Ribbon.
