Sergeant Major, 5th Battalion, 11th Marines
Sergeant Major Diana E. Bacolod

Sergeant Major Bacolod was born in Houston, Texas in 1981, and raised in Brownsville, Texas. In May of 2000, she enlisted in the
United States Marine Corps. She attended recruit training in November Company, 4th Recruit Training Battalion, Marine Corps
Recruit Depot, Parris Island, South Carolina and graduated as the Honor Graduate for platoon 4025 in August 2000.


Private First Class Bacolod was transferred to the school of Infantry at Camp Geiger, Jacksonville, North Carolina for Marines Combat
Training. She was then assigned to Meridian, Mississippi for MOS school where she earned the MOS 6672, Aviation Supply
Specialist. While in MOS school she was meritoriously promoted to Lance Corporal.


After completion of school, she was assigned to Marine Aviation Logistics Squadron 39, Marine Corps Air Station, Camp Pendleton,
California in December, 2000. There she held the billets of Consumable Issuing and Delivery Branch NCOIC. Lance Corporal Bacolod
was then attached to a Unit Deployment Plan cycle to Okinawa, Japan where she was attached to Marine Aviation Logistics Squadron
36 for six months. Lance Corporal Bacolod was promoted to Corporal in 2002 where she was then assigned to the Repairable
Management Division and held the billet of Repairable Warehouse NCOIC. Corporal Bacolod then deployed to Iraq with the Aviation
Logistics Support Ship (T-AVB-4) SS Curtis in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom for 6 months in 2003. She was promoted to
Sergeant in July, 2004 and shortly after re-deployed to Iraq.


Once she returned from deployment, she was reassigned to Marine Aviation Logistics Squadron 12, Marine Corps Air Station, Iwakuni,
Japan. During her tour, Sergeant Bacolod was assigned to the Supply Response Division and held the billets of Technical Research and
Expeditor Reconciliation Branch NCOIC. She was then transferred to the Repairable Management Division as the Repairable Control
Branch SNCOIC. She then deployed with VMA-214 during the ACTI Deployment to Okinawa, Japan.

In July of 2009, Staff Sergeant Bacolod reported to Marine Corps Recruit Depot, Parris Island, South Carolina for Drill Instructor duty.
Staff Sergeant Bacolod graduated from Drill Instructor School in September of 2009 and was assigned to Papa Company, 4th Recruit
Training Battalion, as a Drill Instructor and Senior Drill Instructor. Staff Sergeant Bacolod was promoted to the rank of Gunnery
Sergeant in 2012, where she was assigned as the Chief Drill Instructor for Papa Company Upper Deck Series.

In December of 2012, Gunnery Sergeant Bacolod was reassigned to Marine Aviation Logistics Squadron 31, Marine Corps Air Station,
Beaufort, South Carolina. During her tour, she held the Squadron Support Division and the Supply Accounting Division SNCOIC
billets. In December of 2015 Gunnery Sergeant was selected to the rank of First Sergeant and frocked in February 2016.

In March 2016 First Sergeant Bacolod was transferred to 1st Tank Battalion where she held the Company A and Headquarters and
Service Company First Sergeant billet. During her tour, First Sergeant Bacolod was attached to the 15th MEU, SPMAGTF-CC-CE
19.1 where she served as the Headquarters Company First Sergeant.

Upon her return, she was transferred to Deployment Processing Command/Reserve Support Unit-West to serve as the Senior Enlisted
Advisor. In November 2020, First Sergeant Bacolod was selected to the rank of Sergeant Major. In February 2021, Sergeant Major
Bacolod transferred to her current assignment with 5th Battalion, 11th Marines to serve as the Battalion Sergeant Major.

Sergeant Major Bacolod has obtained an Associates of Arts in General Studies from the University of Phoenix, an Associates of
Science and Bachelors of Science in Social Psychology from Park University.

Sergeant Major D. E. Bacolod's personal awards include the Meritorious Service Medal, Navy Commendation Medal, Navy and Marine
Corps Achievement Medal and the Outstanding Volunteer Service Medal.
