First Sergeant Weidman was born in Lancaster, Pennsylvania. He enlisted in the Marine Corps on 11 September 2001, and attended recruit training at MCRD Parris Island, South Carolina. Upon completion, he received training at the School of Infantry, at Camp Geiger, North Carolina where he received the MOS 0341, Mortarman. Following the School of Infantry, First Sergeant Weidman reported to Basic Security Guard School in Chesapeake, Virginia where he received the additional MOS 8152 Marine Corps Security Force Guard.
Upon completion of Basic Security Guard School, First Sergeant Weidman reported to First Fleet Anti-Terrorism Security Team (FAST) Company in Norfolk, Virginia in June 2002. In January 203, he was reassigned to Second FAST Company in Naval Weapons Station Yorktown, Virginia, where he deployed to Rota, Spain in support of the FAST deployment program. While there he was promoted to the rank of Corporal.
In December 2004, First Sergeant Weidman reported to 3d Battalion, 6th Marine Regiment. While there he served as a squad leader in the 81’s Platoon, Weapons Company. In August 2005, he deployed to Iraq in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom.
In May 2006, First Sergeant Weidman reported to Weapons Training Battalion in Quantico, Virginia. There he received the additional MOS of 0931 and served as the Line Non-Commissioned Officer and Platoon Sergeant.
In January 2010, First Sergeant Weidman attended Basic Recruiter Course 2-10 at MCRD San Diego. Upon graduating, he was assigned to Recruiting Station Kansas City where he served as a canvassing recruiter and a recruiting sub-station Staff Non-Commissioned Officer-in-Charge. While there he was meritoriously promoted to the rank of Gunnery Sergeant.
In March 2013, First Sergeant Weidman report to 2nd Battalion, 1st Marine Regiment. While assigned there he served as the Weapons Platoon Sergeant for Company G, the Company Gunnery Sergeant for Company E and the Platoon Sergeant for CAAT Blue Platoon. While serving as the Company Gunnery Sergeant for Company E, he deployed on the 11th Marine Expeditionary Unit in support of Operation Inherent Resolve.
In January 2016, First Sergeant Weidman was appointed to his current rank and was reassigned to 3d Assault Amphibian Battalion and assumed the duties of the H&S Company First Sergeant. In July 2016, he was reassigned to Company C where he currently serves as the Company First Sergeant.
First Sergeant Weidman’s personal decorations include the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal with one gold star in lieu of second award, the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal with one gold star in lieu of second award and the Combat Action Ribbon.
