Lieutenant Colonel Glenn commissioned into the Marine Corps upon graduation from Texas A&M University in 1999. Initially assigned to 2d Battalion, 3rd Marines in Hawaii serving as a rifle platoon commander, and participated in two deployments to Okinawa, Japan. He also deployed to Southwest Asia as a detachment commander serving under CTF-53 providing security for US Naval interest throughout the Central Command’s area of responsibility.
While in Hawaii, LtCol Glenn also served as the Aide-de-Camp to the Deputy Commander of Marine Forces Pacific and Commanding General of Marine Corps Base Hawaii. In this capacity he was again deployed to Southwest Asia in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Enduring Freedom.
In 2003 LtCol Glenn reported for duty to MCRD San Diego serving as a Series and Company Commander of Company H, 2nd Recruit Training Battalion. After this assignment he attended the Expeditionary Warfare School.
Upon graduation from the Expeditionary Warfare School, Captain Glenn was assigned to 3d Battalion, 5th Marines as a rifle company commander. After a successful deployment to Fallujah, Iraq, he deployed again with 3/5 as the Maritime Raid Force Commander for the 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit.
In 2009 Major Glenn was assigned to the Naval ROTC department at Texas A&M University for duty as the Marine Officer Instructor. During this assignment he earned a Master’s degree in International Affairs from the George Bush School of Government and Public Service.
In 2012 he was initially assigned as the assistant operations officer and eventually became the operations officer for the 13th Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU). LtCol Glenn conducted a deployment with the MEU supporting operations in CENTCOM and AFRICOM areas of responsibility. After this assignment he attended the Marine Corps Command and Staff College in Quantico, Virginia.
Upon graduation from Command and Staff College, LtCol Glenn served as an advisor to the Royal Saudi Marine and Naval Special Forces from 2016 to 2017. Returning from Saudi Arabia he served in Training and Education Command as the head of the Ground Standards Branch. In May of 2018, he assumed command of the “War Dogs” of 2nd Battalion, 7th Marines.
