100th Anniversary Celebration

For all who have ever served with the 1st Marine Regiment…  

The Commanding Officer of

1st Marine Regiment,

Colonel Peter B. Baumgarten,

requests the honor of your presence in celebrating our 100th Anniversary. 

This two day event commences at 0830 on 24 January 2014 and concludes with our 100th Anniversary Ball at 1730 on 25 January 2014. 

Please join us for a time of reflection on the glorious history of the 1st Marine Regiment and for the opportunity to see firsthand our current capabilities.

Schedule of Events:


24 January

0830-0930 – V.I.P. Reception and photo at the 1st Marines Command Post, Bldg 53346 (Service “A”/ Business Casual)

1000-1130 – Battle Colors Rededication Ceremony at the 53 Area Landing Zone (Service “A”/ Business Casual)

1130-1630 – Camp Horno Tour to include static displays, demonstrations and command post visits  (UOD / Civilian Casual)

 

25 January

0900-1000 – Memorial Ceremony at the 1st Marines Memorial Garden  (Service  “A”/ Business Casual)

1000-1730 – Free time.  Take in the sights of Camp Pendleton and the surrounding area
1730-2300 – 100th Anniversary Ball at the Pechanga Resort and Casino in Temecula, CA. Purchase your tickets online at http/1stmarineregiment100thanniversary.eventbrite.com (Dress Blue “A”/ Evening Dress / Civilian Formal)

Mission
On order, 1st Marine Regiment deploys as the Ground Combat Element (GCE) for the 1st Marines Expeditionary Brigade (MEB) in support of crisis response operations and provides mission capable battalions in support of enduring and emerging operational requirements in order to meet operational commitments across the range of military operations.
