A Tomahawk missile is fired aboard USS Cowpens (CG-63) on approximately March 21, 2003. This was one of the first missiles launched by Navy Lt. Eric I. Palmer at the beginning of Operation Iraqi Freedom. Palmer, the officer-in-charge of Civil Affairs Team 6, Detachment 1, 2nd Battalion, 11th Marine Regiment, Regimental Combat Team 5 has been aiding the Iraqis in Haqlaniyah, Iraq, with reconstruction projects. ::r::::n::
